Artist Statement
Shaun Lawrence, BFA Pratt Institute '83, Brooklyn, NY
I believe in engaging my creativity to produce unique artwork that I hope others can connect with. My inspiration is often found in nature and music. Nurturing and education in visual arts have given me a firm foundation, with a freshness for new experiences. Art is how I express my wonder at all elements of life.

My Story
I traveled the country working in scenic art for theater, tv, and movies from 1984-2001.  During this time, I stopped and settled down in Seattle.  I segued unexpectedly into the field of emergency for about 16 years after meeting a paramedic on a set.  Now I'm returning back to my art more full time.  Recently I've been focusing on carved block prints,  but enjoy many different forms of media.  I've been  learning digital art too.
